A few weeks ago, we published an article about new and exciting businesses that are coming to Downtown Cary. Well, just this Tuesday (7/28), Juliet Books has officially opened its doors! There was a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed swiftly by curious patrons checking out the beautiful space and being Juliet’s first customers.
We’re here to share what this fun, new shop has to offer before your first visit!
Once Upon a Time
Juliet Books is the passion project of Marcie Montague and her business partner, Kristine Seawall, who are Downtown Cary regulars. “Juliet” is inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, who shares the same last name as the owner, Marcie.
During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Marcie said she viewed the bookstore’s vision as an alternative, happier ending to the original story. The store has been a personal dream for those behind it, and a happy ending seems very appropriate.
What’s in Store
What is waiting there for visitors? For starters, books, of course! Juliet’s offers books for adults and children alike. The children’s section is particularly fun, set in a decorated upper loft area!
You will find a variety of new books and bestsellers there, and the shop also offers a limited, curated selection of used books.
With your first purchase, you will get a Reader’s Card. Your card will help you earn discounts with every ten books you purchase there! If you find yourself wanting to start new adventures or just want something cool to fill up your bookshelves (no judgment) while also supporting an independent business, give them a try!
Beyond Books
Juliet Books is also a gift shop, in which they are “proud to feature thoughtful goods from local artists, makers, and creative companies whose work brings beauty, charm, and a little extra story to our shelves”.
Some of the products they offer include candles, greeting cards, shirts, notebooks, puzzles, toys, games, and more! They only just started, so who knows what else will be offered as time goes by.
The store also offers a variety of beverages as well!
Closing
The journey of Juliet Books has just begun. Set aside some time to check them out this weekend and show some support for the local businesses that help make Downtown Cary such a great place to be!
