Celebrate love, identity, and community at Pride in the Park at Downtown Cary Park! This vibrant evening of activities invites all to come together for a colorful celebration filled with creativity, music, and local flair. From 4–8 p.m., kick off the festivities with themed crafts at the Art Cart in the Nest Pavilion, where guests of all ages can get creative and show their pride. From 5–10 p.m., stroll through the Pride Night Market, organized by The Night Market Co., and discover a lively showcase of locally crafted goods from Triangle-area LGBTQ+ artisans and allies, alongside delicious food, drinks, and entertainment. Kick off summer in the best way possible at our Summer BreakOUT in the Park! This fun-filled day is all about creative, budget-friendly ways for families to stay active once school is out, with hands-on activities, simple crafts, and playful learning you can recreate at home. Between Frantz Square Lawn and Academy Pavilion, discover ways to stay inspired all season long. The Cary Arts Center will lead a hands-on Mini Marble & Model Magic Sculpture project while sharing additional ideas for take-home art, The Scrap Exchange will show how to turn recycled materials into creative masterpieces, and Mad Science will bring engaging STEM activities that make learning at home fun and accessible. The NC Museum of Natural Sciences will offer an interactive “Meet the Animals” experience, where guests can explore fascinating creatures and even touch one. Guests can also enjoy the NC Museum of History’s Pop-Up State Symbols Scavenger Hunt. While the NC Museum of History is currently closed for renovation, they continue to offer fun and free community programming. This is also a great reminder that many of our downtown Raleigh museums offer free admission and make for a perfect summer outing! You can also give back while you’re here! Read and Feed will be collecting new or gently used children’s books for grades K–5 to help build home libraries for local students. One Tribe Rhythms & Friends will perform every Final Friday from 7 – 8:30 p.m., March – October at the Old Library Site next to the Ivey-Ellington House. As a part of the Cary Art Loop, join One Tribe for a free, family- friendly, drum circle with fire spinning by Caroleeena & Friends! Leading up to fire performances starting at 8 p.m., the drum circle will involve singing and “low impact” West African dances. All are welcome, no experience needed, and participants can bring their own instrument or borrow one! Come celebrate our community! Cary Art Loop’s signature event is the Final Fridays Art Crawl held on the last Friday of each month from 6 – 9 p.m. Final Friday events are hosted by businesses and galleries on a monthly basis.
