How to Spend Mother’s Day Weekend in Cary: Food, Festivals & Family Fun (5/9 + 5/10)

It is Mother’s Day weekend, a time to show appreciation and spend time with family! If you and your family are looking for a reason to get out of the house and explore, then Downtown Cary is the place to be! There are so many shops, restaurants, and more, all within walking distance.

And if you haven’t gotten anything for your mom yet, consider swinging by places like Cary Florist, Home for Entertaining, or Gather Goods to show your appreciation!

Get Out and Explore!

With the recent opening of two new parking decks in addition to trains and buses, it is the easiest it has ever been to do a day trip. Be sure to swing by our Getting Around page for parking information and more!

If you are in the mood to shop, the Villa 19 Boutique near the new parking deck will get you a head start on your summer wardrobe. Alternatively, you can go vintage at the Cary Vintage Market taking place on May 9 from 12- 5 PM at the West End Biergarten (Between Southline Brewing and Viscous Fishes).

Get lunch out at Peck & Plume in the beautiful Mayton hotel, which is next to the Downtown Cary Park! After exploring the park, cool off with a frozen treat at the MilkShake Factory, FRESH, or Geluna Gelato.

If your mom is a fan of wine in particular, then you have to check out the Chatham Street Wine Market and RBF. On Sunday (5/10), The Cary Theater will be showing Diane Keaton’s Baby Boom (PG, 1987) at noon if you want to go out and catch a flick.

These are just a handful of suggestions for you and your family to consider!
