The history of hometown defines new space in downtown

Upgrades, construction, history homes being moved down the street, and much more. Needless-to-say, it’s a buzz of activity in Downtown Cary these days.

A lot of attention, and rightfully so, it paid to the up-fit for the new downtown park, but perhaps you noticed a new building going in across the corner from the park and the library. What used to be an older farm-style house is now the forever home for some forever Cary folks.

We had the pleasure of speaking with Michelle Rhino, Chief Operating Officer at Lee & Associates, about their upcoming building project in Cary.

For Michelle and her team, the project is more than just a new space, it’s a tribute to the history of their hometown and a place for the next generation of leaders.

“For me, this building is a symbol of commitment, drive, and support! I owe my current position to the guidance and inspiration of many influential Cary leaders, including Moss Withers,” said Michelle.

As Cary natives, Michelle Rhino & Lee & Associates CEO, Moss Withers have been shaped by their community and now want to give back by building in Downtown Cary.

“It’s full circle,” said Moss.

“We grew up around here and we see a ton of potential through the town and our clients in-and-around Downtown Cary,” added Moss.

He also told us about a unique element of the new building. Lee & Associates opened up investing in the new property to everyone on their team who wanted to be part of it.

“We had 16 people from our office invest in the new space, which we see as providing a sense of ownership,” added Moss.

The new space will blend modern amenities with a throwback vibe, featuring a public lobby that showcases the work of local artists, a grand open staircase, and a rooftop with stunning views of the new downtown park.

“We are all about relationships & engaging in a community. We want people to feel that when they walk into the new building, it will be foundational strong with a nod to Cary’s history and an embrace to where we are headed,” added Michelle.

“Our building features multiple spaces that prioritize collaboration, while also providing top-notch resources for our employees. This approach enables us to deliver the highest-quality real estate services to the area.  We focus on unlocking opportunities for our clients & staff while striving to be a genuine Real Estate partner for life.”

The team is also committed to sustainability, with plans to repurpose many of the trees removed from the property throughout the space.

Michelle emphasized, “This building will be a testament to the relationships and community that shaped Moss and I. It’s amazing-I’m just a few blocks away from the church that played a significant role in instilling strong principles that guide me to this day.  As well as the schools that provided me with the education and foundation to pursue my current endeavors.”

Through this building, Michelle says they are paying homage to Cary’s rich history, while also embracing its future. Her hope is that, “one day my daughter will own and operate a business or invest in real estate in Cary because it is more than just a rapidly growing city in North Carolina. So,  I hope that when you drive down Kildare Farm Road and catch sight of the L&A brick building, you think of more than just another new structure!”

The project is set to be completed by a target date yet to be announced. Keep an eye out for updates and be sure to take in the breathtaking views as more work is happening across Downtown Cary.
