After more than a year hiatus due to Covid-19, the much loved event Park After Dark returned to Downtown Cary at a new, temporary location. As you have most likely noticed, the former host location of Park After Dark, the Downtown Cary Park, is under construction so the old library site now plays host to a trio of scheduled performances, all featuring food, drink and entertainment from local vendors and performers.
The series kicked off on Wednesday, July 14th with the Marc Puricelli Ensemble gracing the stage for Park After Dark goers.
“We’re in the old library site, a nice beautiful green space while the downtown park is under construction. It’s an opportunity for people to come out, it’s free, and a chance to highlight the arts and some great local businesses,” said Ryan O’Quinn, Program Specialist for the Town of Cary.
Las Gringas had attendees fed, Bond Brothers filled their cup, and Andia’s Ice Cream had a sweet treat for all those ready to enjoy the show.
Sadly, mother nature had other plans and rain forced the evening to be called early, but optimism remained high even as the Marc Pricelli Ensemble packed up.
“We’ll be back with more in August and September. This is just the beginning of more to come downtown this summer. Next week we have a big 150 years of Cary event, and we’re excited for all that’s happening here in downtown,” added O’Quinn.
If you missed the first Park After Dark don’t worry as the next is scheduled for August 11th, followed by the final performance on September 8th. Hope to see you there!
