Marvelous Music Mainstage Series: The Tartan Terrors

March 8, 7:30 pm at the Cary Arts Center

Come to downtown Cary and be a part of incredible evenings of entertainment through the Marvelous Music Mainstage Series. The 23rd season marks the 12th anniversary of this beloved series in the restored, historic Cary Arts Center. The series showcases a variety of emerging and nationally acclaimed touring artists.

The Tartan Terrors are their own Celtic Invasion, mixing music energy with traditional folklore, dance, and humor. With an arsenal featuring classic bagpipes and fiddle, driving drum tones, and signature guitar styles, audiences marvel as The Terrors use their sonic blitz to underscore award winning Step Dancers and internationally recognized comedic performers alike. They have performed on four different continents, in some of the most prestigious Festivals and Highland Games as well as all across North America. Carrie Marshall: Twist of Gold

March 9, 7:30 pm at The Cary Theater

The golden threads of pop and sultry notes and rhythms of jazz intertwine, creating an event that leaves you inspired, uplifted, and with a newfound appreciation for the timeless magic of music. Carrie’s renditions transcend genres, blending beloved pop classics, original compositions, and the mesmerizing allure of jazz, all brought to life by an ensemble of extraordinary talents. She covers songs from artists such as the Beatles, Amy Winehouse, Norah Jones, Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, The Cure, Cyndi Lauper and more! A recent cancer survivor, Carrie weaves her own personal story of hope, encouraging listeners to tap their toes to the beat of their own syncopated rhythm, finding GOLD in even the darkest of places.

A portion of all ticket sales go to support the Helene Foundation, a non-profit based here in Raleigh that supports women in the Triangle undergoing cancer treatments.

Bio Carrie Marshall, an accomplished vocalist, pianist and award-winning songwriter, has established herself as a versatile presence in the music world. She has performed at such notable events as the Democratic National Convention as well as several reputable theaters and jazz clubs across the Carolinas. Her vocals and arrangements weave through a tapestry of genres, including pop, jazz, blues, gospel and country. Also an actress and film composer, Carrie can be seen in the films “War Room” and “Changeover”, where she also won Best Supporting Actress and was nominated for Best Score (Love International Film Festival, Beverly Hills). Her recent release of the Dolly Parton classic, “Jolene”, recently won a Bronze Award for the Best Cover Song by WAM Indie Awards in November of 2023.

The Food & Flea brings some of the best artists from all over the state to the historic heart of downtown Cary. We are held on the 2nd Sundays of the month from 12p – 4p @ 100 W. Chatham St., on the corner of N. Academy St. & W. Chatham.

Meet the Artist Reception (Dain Kim, Freddie Bell, Eva Green)

March 15, 6:00 pm at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center

Dain Kim: Natural Awareness

After relocating to North Carolina, the Dain Kim is getting familiar with a new environment by observing her surroundings. This solo show is a vibrant journal of abundant botanical beings through her lens. Breathe deeply and tune in to the pulsating universe that exists just beyond our habitual awareness.

Freddie Bell: Gentle Discovery

Through color, abstract shape, layers and patterns, artist Freddie Bell reflects on the relationship between grief and the body.

Eva Green: Hand Woven Basketry

Eva Green is a fourth-generation basket weaver. She was skillfully taught the art by her mother, Nadine Degraffenreaidt. Hand weaving baskets bring her joy, especially intricate designs which provide her with a rewarding challenge. Eva uses berries, nuts, flowers, vegetables, and other materials to dye the reed for her baskets.


The Cary Vintage Market

March 16, 12:00 pm at the West End Biergarten

Cary, NC’s only monthly vintage market is back again for the third time on Saturday March 16th!

Created by Hummingbird Collective and hosted by Vicious Fishes Brewery & South Line Brewing Company in the brand new West End Biergarten, this family friendly market features:

Preservation Series: Ladies of Cary – Our Historical Heroines

March 19, 7:00 pm at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center

In recognition of Women’s History Month, join presenter Carla Jordan Michaels for a trip through history highlighting women who had an impact on Cary from the late 1700s to the present. Farmers Spring Festival

March 23, 9:00 am at South Academy Street

Rescheduled after a tropical storm in the fall, the Farmers Spring Festival will take place along South Academy Street and in the new Downtown Cary Park. There will be live music on the main stage, a kids performance area, fun games and interactive exhibits, local food and craft beer, art & crafts and a mid-day pie-eating contest.


Art Making: Inspired by Hilma AF Klint

March 23, 1:15 pm at The Cary Theater

Description: In this art class, we will take a closer look at some of Hilma af Klint’s most well-known paintings, studying her geometry, symbolism and style. We will then create our own Klint inspired mixed media painting.

Legacy of Jazz Concert Series: The Great American Crooners

Join Grammy nominated vocalist Clint Holmes as he takes us on a vocal journey across some of the most iconic male crooners of the Great American Songbook. From Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis, and Frank Sinatra, to Ray Charles, Peter Allen and Bobby Short. After 7 years of headlining in his own theater at Harrah’s in Las Vegas, Clint comes to The Cary Theater to share his talents with us! Clint is joined by The Christian Tamburr Trio.
