We like to think that it’s always a good day in Cary, but there’s a new shop in downtown that’s doing their part to make sure of it. Welcome to Good Day Cary, located right next to Bull City Cider and across the street from folks like Bond Brothers and more. Their address is 214 E. Chatham, it’s the house now turned specialty gift shop.
Krista Wicklund sold her business in New York, and she and her husband made their way down south, settling in Cary.
“It’s pretty funny, this wasn’t a big life goal, but Good Day Cary kind of just happened,” said Krista.
“We were having a great night in Downtown Cary, and while walking around after dinner and I thought, the downtown area needs a local gift shop.”
More on what they’ll be offering at Good Day Cary, but an immediate draw for Krista in starting business right here in the heart of downtown had a lot to do with the intentional planning and growth here.
“I have a background in planning, and I feel like the growth in Downtown Cary has been very well managed. I like seeing the expanded sidewalks, it’s well lit, and there’s a plan for future growth and improvements. All of that is super important, people are coming here and the town is managing and embracing all of it.”
Krista couldn’t help but rave on how our area support small businesses, and she’s hoping to help highlight by selling a bunch of local products in the gift shop.
“When you walk through the door at Good Day Cary you’re going to find cool and unique gifts, something that brings you joy or makes you smile, that’s our goal here. Have a birthday or special occasion and need a gift? We hope that we’ll have you covered,” said Krista.
We definitely recommend heading over and checking them out!
As for hanging in downtown, Krista said she loves it all, but there’s always a good chance you’ll find her right across the street.
“I have to get over to Sidebar and check it out, and we love Pro’s Epicurean because I feel like every time we are there we are meeting new people and dogs. We’re big dog people, in fact your four-legged friend is welcome to join you on your next trip to Good Day Cary,” added Krista, with a smile.
