All Day

Art show opening: Jose Trejo Maya

Cary Arts Center 101 Dry Ave, Cary

Cary Arts Center Principal’s Hall | 101 Dry Avenue July 9, 2024 - August 24, 2025 Medium: Ink on film “I am a remnant of the Nahuatlacah oral tradition a tonalpouhque mexica, a commoner from the lowlands (i.e. Mexico) from a time and place that no longer exists. At present my poetry has been reified as it has been published in the UK, US, India, Spain, Australia, Argentina, Germany and Venezuela. I have been exhibited in different venues with a work that’s titled: Transparencies in Time: Cuahpohualli embedded in ethnopoetic language poetry: I seek to expand on this work into a comprehensive exhibit in a gallery and/or installation in 3D public art sculptures (i.e. three simultaneous monumental works that expand into multiple levels of perception and/or dimensions). In this the sculptures came from dreams, it’s a refraction of our ancestors so you see a mirror in yourself.” https://mozaikphilanthropy.org/ecosystemx/

Ahoy, mateys! Join us for a swashbuckling Summer Youth Performance as Grey Seal Puppets presents Bathtub Pirates! Some of the best adventures begin in a sea of bubbles—just ask the child whose tub is suddenly transformed into a pirate ship! When the notorious Captain Blackbeard finds himself without a vessel, he and his motley crew set sail in a bathtub fitted with a rudder, sail, and Jolly Roger flag. At first, it’s all fun and games… until the kid is put to work! And when Blackbeard trades buried treasure for pirating video games, the kid challenges him to a duel. Who will win? You’ll have to join us to find out. Packed with imagination and lots of laughs—this show is perfect for young people and their grown-ups!
