Original scheduled in April, but having to be cancelled due to poor weather, the 2023 Mid-Town Square Spring Festival brought thousands of residents and visitors alike to Downtown Cary, on Saturday, June 3rd.
Jay Bond, co-owner of Bond Brothers Beer Company and one of the organizers for the Festival was extremely proud of the success this year. “This is our 7th year, (taking two years off for Covid) and this year’s attendance is one of our best.”
As hundreds of people shopped along E. Cedar Street, supporting nearly 30 local vendors and artisans, one of the main attraction for the festival was the full line-up of musicians that took to the main stage.
Rocker Ari Pappalardo loves coming back to his home town to perform. A graduate of Cary H.S., Pappalardo told the crowd he loves coming back for the Spring Festival and how it highlights all the great things about Cary.
And those in attendance couldn’t have asked for better weather.
Mike and Alison, who live in Apex, were here celebrating their 17th wedding anniversary. “This is the perfect event for us. We love being outside, listening to live music and enjoying good beer and food.”
With about a dozen of food trucks, festival goers had plenty to choose from. Lori Herndon, owner of Trash Talk Food Truck (Mustang Charlie’s Diner) has been coming to the Springfest since 2018. “I love events like these because I believe in giving back to the community and supporting local.”
Jay Bond, who is a Cary resident loves helping the downtown grow with events like this. “I want to help break the ‘stigma’ that Cary is a sleepy town. I want people to come down here and see that we can put on rocking events.”
