44th Annual Cary Christmas Parade this Weekend

On Saturday, December 9th from 2-4 PM, the 44th annual Jaycee’s Cary Christmas Parade returns to the streets of downtown Cary to add even more cheer and excitement to the holiday season. The parade will run from 2-4 PM along its traditional route. The parade runs through the heart of downtown Cary starting on E. Chatham Street at Ward St, proceedings down E. Chatham to S. Academy Street, then turns left onto S. Academy Street, and ends at Dry Ave in front of the Cary Arts Center.

In her first year as the Cary Jaycee’s president, Stephanei Milazzo is extremely excited about this year’s parade. “We are thrilled to announce this year’s parade’s Grand Marshall is none other than the greatest high school mascot in the United States, the Cary Imp!”, Milazzo shared. For those unfamiliar, earlier this year, Scorebook Live hosted a national NCAA bracket-style tournament to locate the country’s best high school mascot and the Cary Imps brought home the win!

This year, parade organizers are expecting about 85 registered participants to be a part of the parade. The parade always offers and highlights a number of different school bands, dance studios, civic and service organizations, community groups, churches, local businesses, elected officials, and many more. Millazo noted that, “One particular entry to look for this year is Kosterman Chiropractic float as there is rumor an elf is on the float getting ready for an adjustment after an incredibly busy year working many hours making toys!”

The Cary Jaycee’s Christmas Parade always brings scores of folks every year to downtown Cary. There is expected to be thousands in attendance along the parade route and enjoying the new Downtown Cary Park! Come downtown and see all the wonderful decorations, lights, and merry atmosphere. Stop in a local shop for a bite to eat, a drink, or pick up a few holiday gifts for friends and family. In the event you cannot make it in person, WRAL will be livestreaming the parade.
