CARY, N.C. — Downtown Cary’s walkable holiday wonderland has been described many ways: Like a scene from a Christmas card, or a vintage Norman Rockwell painting.
Each year, the light displays have gotten grander and grander – with families stopping to sit in Santa’s sleigh for a photo and wide-eyed children dropping off their secret Christmas wishes in Santa’s mailbox.
Kids and dogs play in the grassy field beneath the giant Christmas tree overlooking Academy Street from the old library site – and this year, for the first time, there’s even an outdoor ice-skating rink. Made of synthetic ice, the rink has skates for visitors to borrow. It’ll be open from Dec. 3 to Dec. 24.
