It’s Fall Y’all, from the Farmers Fall Festival

What started as a small gathering of friends and vendors a few years ago has grown into a full-on Downtown Cary festival. Our friends from the Farmers Market were back again with the annual Farmers Fall Festival.

We’ll hear from Dan Pike, part of the team who created the annual event that marks the shifting of the season, but before that, our cameras were rolling throughout the festival and we want to take you along for part of that journey:

This was the 5th annual Cary Downtown Farmers Market Farmers Fall Festival, an event that according to Dan, “is special because it showcases the Cary Downtown Farmers Market and the community we have built. It has something for everyone and is small and quaint enough for a family to enjoy and not get overwhelmed. Also dogs are welcome so that is awesome in itself.”

Remember how we said that it has grown from a small event to a full-on festival?

“The first year we had about 30 vendors and it was in the backyard of the Ivey Ellington House. Over the years it has grown into an event with 100 booths, a kids area with interactive games, a beer garden and a stage featuring two of the best local bands in the area. It is a true community event that has something for everyone,” said Dan.

Of course, it’s that hard-to-beat Downtown Cary vibe that also makes this such an incredible event.

“We are excited about the fantastic vibe and energy that is happening in downtown Cary. There are so many new people making their way downtown not only to the Cary Downtown Farmers Market but to all of the stores, restaurants and other establishments. We are excited about the renovation of existing properties and the new buildings and businesses that are being built. The Cary Downtown Park has us very excited on what should be the pinnacle of pride in downtown. Downtown Cary is now a destination and not just a pass through which is really cool,” added Dan.

Here are a few pictures from this year’s event, including what looks like another epic pie-eating contest!
