Join the Cary Farmers Market for the winter market season along East Park St., next to Downtown Cary Park.
Find a wonderful lineup of vendors offering all locally made and locally grown items. Shop for freshly-harvested produce, humanely-raised meat, and artisan-made goods. Stop by the info booth to learn about their matching program for SNAP/EBT.

Cary Players presents The Trip to Bountiful
February 1 at 3:00 pm and 7:30 pm, February 2 at 3:00 pm, and February 3 at 7:30 pm at the Cary Arts Center
Horton Foote’s moving play tells the story of Carrie Watts, an elderly woman, who longs to escape the cramped Houston apartment where she lives with her protective son, Ludie, and her authoritarian daughter-in-law, Jessie Mae. Carrie wants to return to her beloved hometown of Bountiful, Texas, one final time before she dies. While Ludie is at work and Jessie Mae is at the drugstore, Carrie escapes to the bus station and befriends a young woman named Thelma. The new friends travel toward Bountiful together, but when Carrie arrives in nearby Harrison, Texas, she begins to learn that her beloved town isn’t the same as she remembered it.

GLOW Under the Silver Moon Parade

This event was previously scheduled for January 11, but was postponed due to inclement weather.
Delight in artful handmade paper lantern creations and join your Cary community as we parade through Downtown Cary Park on Saturday, February 1! We will celebrate GLOW by gathering on Frantz Square Lawn at 6 p.m., and we’ll start our parade of lights ‘Under the Silver Moon’ at 6:15 p.m. The parade will be followed by music and performances featuring Bulltown Strutters, One Tribe Rhythms, and Caroleeena’s Circle of Joy.
No pets, fire, or candle-lit lanterns in the parade please!

Country Soul Songbook Presents the Big Sing Civil Rights Songbook

The Civil Rights Songbook serves as a reminder of how music can serve as a unifying force during times of struggle. Valentine’s Date Night in the Park

Enjoy the enchanting live music of guitarist Alex Gordez, who will set the mood with a blend of classical, Latin, Tango, Flamenco, Gypsy, and Jazz tunes. Get hands-on with mini terrarium building led by Izzy Hall of Garden & Gather, or take on the fun ‘Paint Your Partner’ challenge with Lauren Likes. Couples will also be able to enjoy a variety of free crafts together. Al Strong is an award-winning trumpet player, composer, recording artist, and educator. A cultural innovator, he is the co-founder of the non-profit the Art of Cool Project, which spawned the internationally recognized Art of Cool Music Festival. Known for his creative ability to seamlessly re-imagine existing works such as “Blue Monk”, “Fly Me To The Moon” and the classic “Lift Every Voice and Sing” Strong aims to challenge the boundaries of music while connecting with his audiences via familiar musical textures.
Chip Shearin is an acclaimed bassist, producer and composer. He has performed and/or recorded with a veritable who’s who of music icons, including jazz greats Donald Byrd and Dizzy Gillespie, soul icons Aretha Franklin and Gladys Knight, rap artists Grandmaster Flash and Tupac and contemporary pop stars Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green. Chip’s career was jump-started when he laid down that iconic bass line for Sugar Hill Gang’s smash hit, “Rapper’s Delight.”

Drop into Academy Pavilion to explore Shadow Lab, a series of interactive stations where young people experience hands-on learning about the science and art of shadow-making and even have the opportunity to create their own shadow puppet! Don’t miss Matt’s captivating performance of “A Wild Goose Chase,” happening mid-day, where poems spring hilariously to life on the shadow puppet screen. Marvelous Music Mainstage Series: Johnny Folsom 4

From A Boy Named Sue to Ring of Fire to Rusty Cage, Johnny Folsom 4 is the ultimate tribute to the legendary Man in Black. While nobody really sounds like Johnny Cash, nobody sounds more like Johnny Cash than Johnny Folsom 4.
Lead singer David Burney’s lilting southern baritone delivers Cash’s classic songs so well you may well wonder from time to time if Johnny himself is in the building. David Gresham fills the shoes of Luther and Carl Perkins on those classic guitar licks, while Randy Benefield (drums) and Steve Eisenstadt (bass) provide that hallmark, train-like rhythm the whole world knows and loves.

Performances at the Page: Bill Leslie
February 23, 4:00 pm at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center
Beloved local musician and broadcaster Bill Leslie returns to the Page-Walker will a preview of his album “Paradise,” due for release in Fall 2025. He will play songs inspired by places of incredible beauty and charm, including “Autumn in Vermont,” “Tuscan Trilogy,” and “April in Asheville.” He will also perform some of his most popular songs from earlier albums.
Leslie is the two-time winner of the Peabody Award, the nation’s highest honor in broadcasting. Composer of more than a dozen music albums, including” Scotland – Grace of the Wild,” which was named World Music Album of the Year in 2013, Leslie is also a popular landscape photographer.

Cary Apex Piano Teacher’s Association presents
February 28, 7:00 pm at the Cary Arts Center
Dr. Jean Park is a pianist and educator who has recently moved to the Triangle area. She has performed in many cities in the United States as well as abroad and her playing has been featured on the radio as well as on a film soundtrack. As a soloist, Jean Park was the first place winner in the graduate division of the Schubert Club’s competition.
Jean has her Bachelor’s of Arts in Music from University of Washington and Master’s in Music from Manhattan School of Music. She completed her Doctorate of Musical Arts at Stony Brook University, where she studied with Gilbert Kalish. She began teaching at the college level by serving as a piano teaching assistant at Stony Brook University. After that, Jean Park served as piano faculty at the University of Incarnate Word and San Antonio College from 2018-2023. Jean Park is currently serving as a piano coach for the North Carolina Chamber Music Institute. She has also joined the piano faculty at Duke University and Meredith College since Fall 2024.
