Community Workshop: GLOW outdoor exhibition is back after dark with an all-new lantern-making and parade experience: Under the Silver Moon. This is a great activity for ages 8 and up! Artist Gowri Savoor will lead a special workshop to create Rattan Sphere lanterns using materials such as willow, tissue paper and LED lights. The experience will culminate in a celebration of light with a parade along Academy Street on Saturday, January 15th. Open to ages 8+ yrs. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a caregiver. Learn how to create lanterns for Cary's first ever community lantern parade! This is a workshop series you and your family and friends won't want to miss! All are welcomed to join renowned visual teaching artist Gowri Savoor for a lantern-making workshop experience. There will be a few workshops to sign up for weekend of January 8th, focusing on a specific lantern type using sustainable materials and suitable for ages 8+. Participants are invited to carry their lanterns in a magical community lantern parade which will be held on January 15th as a part of the GLOW outdoor exhibition.
