It had the makings of an epic Sunday funday on paper, and by all accounts… it delivered.
The stars aligned and in this case, the sunshine did as well.
A mainstay in Downtown Cary is the monthly Food & Flea, which highlights local vendors, eats, drinks and crafts, on the 2nd Sunday of every month (located on the corner of Chatham and Academy). This Sunday (April 11th) was no exception, with the addition to the afternoon being a food truck rally that we call the Downtown Chowdown.
Let’s swing by Food & Flea first where local vendors had food, drink and plenty to purchase on hand, while a local musician, Old Sap, entertained the crowds.
The next Food & Flea is Sunday, May 8th from Noon-4pm.
Food trucks, drink tents, and fun and games lined Academy Street for the Chowdown. Nearly 30 vendors came out, in beautiful sunny weather, to provide plenty to eat and drink for thousands of patrons.
We caught up with Ryan O’Quinn from the Town of Cary, who was working and enjoying all that the Chowdown had to offer.
Friends of Downtown Cary enjoyed a food-filled afternoon tasting some of the best food in the Triangle, enjoying cool beverages from craft beer and wine vendors, and relaxing on the lawn to some great music.
Here are some more pictures from an incredible day at the Chowdown:
The next Downtown Chowdown is Sunday, July 24th. See you then!
