Foodie News: Cary’s Blue Moon Bakery moving to larger Ashworth Drugs space

Blue Moon Bakery & Cafe is relocating to a larger space in the former Ashworth Drugs building at 105 E. Chatham St. in downtown Cary. The bakery is expanding from 2,000 to 3,000 square feet to accommodate a surge in sales as the area continues to grow. Having been at its current location since 1999, the bakery will now have more room for baking and introduce an updated breakfast and lunch menu. The renovation will also feature a retro-style soda fountain, honoring Ashworth Drugs’ history.

Coffee shop joins downtown Cary development

A new coffee shop, Coffee Studio Cary LLC, is set to open in downtown Cary’s Walker development, located next to Downtown Cary Park. The project is being overseen by Durham-based Buildcorp Inc., and the development is owned by an LLC managed by local developer Bill Zahn. Other businesses in The Walker include Saap, a Laotian restaurant, and Gigi’s Playhouse. While an official opening date hasn’t been announced yet, the coffee shop is part of the continued growth of downtown Cary.
