It’s almost here!

In less than one month the Downtown Cary Park will be open, after a ribbon cutting ceremony on Sunday, November the 19th!

Expect a day filled with festivities, programming and fun!

“We have a lot of fun announcements in store,” said Joy Ennis, the General Manager of the Downtown Cary Park.

The park team revealed a few more details about the event in their most recent newsletter (hint: you can sign up for that here). The day will include:

  • Imagine Circus will be serving up wonder via aerialists, roving jugglers, bubble artists, stilt walkers and more.
  • The Poetry Fox will be dealing out custom poems on the spot.

As for some additional firm details, “the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be an all-day event, from 11am-7pm. Attendees can expect to enjoy programming such as a Bandit Flight Team Flyover, limited edition arts and crafts, live musical performances, and many more surprises,” added Joy.

Here’s the best part, the entire Park will open all at once! Which means the connectivity that the park will bring to Downtown Cary will be on full display right away.

“Downtown Cary Park will be a big point of connection in Cary. Not only will the Park serve as a meeting space where friends and family can gather to create memories, enjoy our amenities, and participate in our programming, but we envision visitors patronizing other businesses in the downtown area as well,” said Joy.

From the get-go, there are Downtown Cary staples that will call the park home, as well as some newcomers.

“The Cary Downtown Farmer’s Market will move to the Park near Park Street Courts. Cary’s Annual Tree Lighting, skating rink and Santa’s Workshop will move to the Park and be incorporated into the A Gift to Cary Celebration on December 2,” added Joy.

A new feature will be a social district. Once the Park opens, the Downtown Cary Park Social District will take effect. You can learn all about the social district here.
