Something new is coming to Downtown Cary, a street art-inspired bar with beer, wine, spirits and… axe throwing?
That’s right, the new venture, called Graffiti, is hoping to open this week (the week after Christmas), tucked back over on Cedar Street (158 E Cedar St, Cary, NC 27511), over by Scratch.
We caught up with Adam Eshbaugh, who you might know from the 919 Beer Podcast and other projects in-and-around Downtown Cary and the Triangle.
“Working with local artists, Graffiti will immerse you in the disruption of everything you’re used to about Downtown Cary. Come in and see how the street art in the bar will grow to eventually cover every wall in the space, and see how it changes over time,” said Adam.
Graffiti will have all of the usual beverages of your choice, from things like seasonal cocktails, to eight rotating beer taps, plus plenty of cans and bottles of both craft and domestic beers. They also plan to collaborate with breweries from around North Carolina to produce different beers to be released at the bar.
That’s some of the usual stuff you’d be expect. So, what about Downtown Cary’s first bar that will offer axe-throwing lanes?
“Graffiti will feature six ax-throwing lanes, completely unique to Downtown Cary. Lanes can be reserved online and walk-ins will be welcome. Groups of 3-4 will have their own lanes to themselves and singles and doubles may be asked to join together,” said Adam.
They’re outfitting the walls with a bunch of big TVs hung throughout the space, perfect for catching all the games.
It should be a super unique style bar, that’s for sure.
“When we were thinking about doing something in Downtown Cary, we wanted to make sure it would stick out. As much as we absolutely love Cary, we think it’s safe to say that everything seems to be in its own neat place. We wanted to disrupt that, but in a good way. We wanted to bring something that is completely different than anything else Downtown. We aren’t artists ourselves, but we truly appreciate art and artists, and street art is something we’ve had a growing fascination with in recent years, thanks to visiting places like the Foundation Walls Project in Asheville and Kotis Street Art in Greensboro. We wanted to bring that sort of vibe of art and creativity to Downtown Cary,” added Adam.
Be on the lookout for the official opening date of Graffiti, you can keep an eye on their Instagram account to see when the doors, lanes, and bar stools will be open!
