Feeling Thankful in Downtown Cary

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, our team has compiled a short list of just some of the reasons we are thankful for this beautiful downtown of ours in Cary. We wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving and we look forward to celebrating the holiday season together.

Here are a handful of reasons we are thankful and grateful for DTC:

Let’s start with the Holiday Season, and it’s going to be a BIG one

Look ahead a bit, there will be a buzz of Holiday activity happening in downtown Cary on December 4th. The rundown of events includes:

  • A ginger bread house competition
  • Cary Players presenting “It’s a Wonderful Life”
  • The official Cary Christmas tree lighting

Check out this article with the list of activities for the 4th, and don’t forget the Cary Jaycees Christmas parade is December 11th (more information here).

Coffee time with something for everyone

The beauty of a downtown like ours is the ever-expanding offerings from local restaurants, bakeries and shops. When the mood strikes for a coffee, tea, or other drink, the options here are as good as they come. In this article we introduce you to the special teams at Brew Coffee Bar, Esteamed Coffee, and Peck and Plume.

Needless to say, we are chock full of great options for a warm drink or tasty treat in downtown.

Events, events, events!

You are never at a lack of things to do here downtown. Our events page is up-to-date with local happenings, and we are thankful for the dedicated team from across Cary who keep us moving and in community together through great events. Some of our favorite include:

  • Park After Dark: These great community get-togethers are only during select Wednesdays during the Summer and Fall, so stay tuned for more to come next year.
  • Saturday Mornings at the Farmers Market: From April until the end of October the market is open from 8:00-Noon, and then in November they shift to 9:00-Noon through the end of March. Go see Dan and Joy Pike, who organize the market, and the incredible vendors on-site every Saturday.
  • Celebrations, parties, and festivals: There are almost too many to mention, and the Town of Cary does an incredible job of providing top-notch events, from things like the Cary 150 year birthday party, Lazy Daze, and even one-off events like Public Safety Day. We cannot wait for the next event here in downtown.

Awesome local businesses

Thankful doesn’t even begin to describe the feeling towards the local businesses in downtown; they are the heartbeat of this special place.

Our friend Ryan O’Quinn, who is the Program Specialist for Outdoor Arts Events told us, “I am thankful for all of the great businesses in DTC.  From the great restaurants and breweries to local shops that have unique one-of-a-kind items, DTC has everything you could really want but still manages to create a small town feel.”

In this article we highlight a few of our favorite spots to get a cool treat (regardless of the season really!). Visit our directory page to meet all of our local partners here in Downtown Cary.
