That’s right, the Lazy Daze Festival is back! Join with friends, family, and people from across the greater-Cary community for the 45th Annual Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival. After cancelling the event in 2020 amid the Covid pandemic (it was only the second time that the event had been cancelled since Lazy Daze was first help in 1977), we’re back and ready to celebrate together.
“It was heartbreaking to cancel last year, and that’s why we’re very excited knowing that Lazy Daze means so much to Cary and the community,” said Adam Bell, the Festivals and Events Supervisor for the Town of Cary.

Loads of information is available on the Town of Cary website about Lazy Daze, so click over here for more, but here’s what we’re looking forward to most this year:
A reminder of Cary’s history:
The first Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival was held on August 27, 1977 on E. Chatham St. between Academy St. and Walker St. The event was sponsored by the Cary Board of Directors of Southern National Bank. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the event in what is Cary’s 150th birthday year. Pretty incredible!
Did you know that in 2004 Lazy Daze was awarded the Regional Event of the Year for North & South Carolina by the North Carolina Association of Festivals & Events?!
To be part of incredible community impact:
Not only is Lazy Daze a great celebration but it is also a goal of the festival organizers and committee to return resources back to the local community. To date, the festival committee has awarded over $750,000 in grants to various nonprofit organizations.
Food and drinks and fun:
Come hungry and thirsty, that’s for sure! The festival, like years past, will have a ton of local vendors and places to sit and enjoy the company of family and friends. Here’s a list of the vendors for this year.
Entertainment and artists:
Local artists and entertainers will have plenty for your eyes and ears to enjoy.keep the party rolling all weekend long. There will be four stages with live entertainment including jazz, bluegrass, reggae, rock, funk, and more. In addition, there will be a number of entertainers on-the-move traveling around the festival.
“I really do believe that art is built into the fabric of Cary, I mean this is the 45th Lazy Daze, so this event is a staple here. We have 180+ artisans from all over the country coming to the event, from as far away as California; we have a huge reach,” added Bell.
